Handshake Community Campaign For skydroid/ App

This is a post to brainstorm a marketing campaign for the HNS app

skydroid/
Any ideas you have to promote this dope app should go into the comments.

If you haven't checked it out I think it's one of the best use cases for HNS domains that's live today.
skydroid/
is a decentralized app store that lets you download apps directly through an HNS TLD. They already have ~2,500 users on Android in 9 months! There aren't even 2,500 people in HNS community so obviously there's a real demand for the app.

HNS Fund is giving a grant to
skydroid/
to continue developing their app. I think this could be the first big consumer app that uses HNS.

Being the great community we are, we should help promote
redsolver/
's app and show the power of HNS.

Some ideas I have:
* Hackernoon article on how to upload your app to skydroid
* Get it to product of the day on Product Hunt
* Hacker news posts
* Ask Sia team to post about it
* Make a simple marketing site at
skydroid/
instead of a redirect


Any other ideas? Anything helps :)

I think specifically pitching it to android alt distro maintainers would be a big win. Blackphone, Copperhead, /e/OS, Pinephone, etc.

I like all the other initial suggestions too.

Publishing some high quality articles explaining why this solution matters, alongside guides for both developers and users to begin taking advantage, could be re-syndicated across sites like hackernoon and others for significant reach. Of course it'd be great to make a special note of how HNS is a key part of the solution, but even without any emphasis on HNS just getting skydroid into usage is gonna be good for all of us.

Once there's a marketing site we can also share it in our newsletter and feature it in the Namebase what is new section (that way every Namebase user will potentially see it). It's awesome that there are so many users already!

Namebase can help RT this for sure, and I think there's a strong chance Sia can help too given how great they've been with spotlighting Sia community creations.

I think a simple marketing/landing page at

skydroid/
would be great since it's such a more powerful experience when you actually land on a website that's hosted on a Handshake name instead of being redirected to somewhere else.
