I've used usd to buy hns when I was first starting off. Had no issues, transaction completed with hns in my account in about a day.
We should probably update that copy. Right now about 70% of US customers can get access to USD payments instantly. The other 30% can't get set up on our payments partner for various reasons, but we're working to fix that so that all customers (both US and international) will be able to purchase HNS with USD.

Any timeline on when other fiat currencies and/or any exchanges will get more involved with this?
Within this quarter is our goal (caveat that it's difficult to give an estimate with 100% certainty with any development timeline).
Is it possible sometime in near future to sell HNS that we get from staking TLDs to USD and then transfer USDs using regular bank transfer (international). I am asking because many countries are not crypto friendly and it will be difficult to get local currency in exchange for crypto there. Regulations are very uncertain. I am expecting something like how YouTube does money transfer for monetized content.
Yes it will be possible, though initially we'll support USDC withdrawals for international customers before bank transfers.
